        Yasothon province was named "Tha Muang Sing Tha". The city is set by King WorRaWongSa (Pha wor) The old chief of Viengchan city (Laos). About Year 1797. And has been renamed as "Muang Yasothon, reporting directly to Bangkok in the year 1814. Later upgraded to a province Yasothon, Separate from Ubon Ratchathani. From March 1, 1972.
Yasothon Province is the smallest in the Northeast. Has approximately 4,161 square kilometers. Population of 539,134 people and the population of farmers.
Territory.
Eastern contact with Amnat Charoen and Ubon Ratchathani province.
West contact with Roi Et Province.
South contact with Si Sa Ket province.
North contact with Mukdahan Province.

Administrative divisions.
The subdivided into 9 districts, The districts are further subdivided into 78 communes,and 835 villages.

Total car distance of 531 km
- Highway No. 1 (Phaholyothin) to Saraburi then turn right onto Highway No. 2 means (Mitthaphab Road) through Nakhon Ratchasima (Phimai) through Nong Song Hong and Ban Phai (Districts of Khon Kaen Province). Then turn right on Highway No. 23 through the Borabue district (Mahasarakham province). And Thawatchaburi, Selaphum (District of Roi Et). Arrive to Yasothon.
